Make it Special. A farewell letter

5 months, a foreign country. New rules, new schedules, new traditions, new plans, new expectations, new ways of acting, thinking, speaking, moving, living.
And of course, lots of new people to know and talk to, to work with, to try to understand and to learn from.

In a few days we’ll be closing the last page of this chapter of our lives –decisive for ones, not so for others… but surely special for all of us.
Five months have passed by like five days, and soon and without even noticing, all we lived so intensely will fade into memories.
Good times to remember; laughs and looks; full of decisions made and consequences; of nice and twisted feelings… Full of meaning.

Five months have passed by like five days, and in a very short time most of us will be back at home, busy again with our real lives.

As I pack my stuff I realize how much I wish this experience would start all over again… But then I think: isn’t that what makes it special?
It’s not what you do or what you’ll remember about it; it is knowing that there is an end that makes this time unique, unrepeatable. It is the knowledge of time passing by what makes us take advantage of every instant, to feel it, to live it as if it was the last.

Now, all we have to do is to remember…
Remember all that people that you once met, and all you learned from them.
Keep those good moments you spent together and erase those that don’t make you smile. Be happy to miss them, because that will mean they left a mark on your life.

Just like a good book, those memories will be there, on a shelf –or on facebook-   waiting for us to go through them and be able to feel again what is left of an amazing time of our lives.

I’ll miss you all.
Take care :)
